For those who have never been here, I'll give you a general discription of where I am and what we do here...
To start off with, we are on the third planet from a mid-sized sun which is two-thirds out from the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Getting closer to this planet, you will notice a geographical formation which closely resembles a left hand imprint. Those of us who live here refer to it as the "Lower Peninsula" of Michigan. At where the middle finger might be, there is a body of water which flows between it and a land mass above it. This body of water is a Strait and the land mass above is called the "Upper Peninsula". The Strait is called the "Mackinac Straits", pronounced; Mackanaw, and most of what is discussed here usually will be occuring on |  |
the North side of the straits. (There will be more refrences to this location later). Where Eckermanmichigan is; is from that point on... What we do here is something that many kids everywhere want to do; hunt, fish, and explore.
The stories, articles, and websites will have everything to do with hunting, fishing and exploring. There are many kinds and types of all three and I hope to convey in many ways the meaning of all three. The first six stories on this site have been written over the last six years. Every year during the last week in September, a various amount of friends and co-workers conveyed upon a plot of land with a cabin and electricty. What has happened to us and for us over these years goes from archaic, through tragic, beyond comedic, and dwells in ...Well hell, just read the damn thing.

2007 August 11 - There's a new Outhouse!
This is old news for a lot of you, and thus long overdue for me to update the link here to the Outhouse, but better late than never. I say that with a hint of bitterness because I was due to have a baby yesterday and it still hasn't happened. Just like his dad, always putting stuff off to the last minute. In any case, the link! 2006 03 JULY - Eckerman IV and the pictures
Eckerman IV has been posted, but the pictures haven't been. I'm still editing them while I'm not nursing and working and cutting the grass and fanning my husband with palm fronds and what have you. Please standby.
In other news, we have a chatroom now! Be there or be square, live and in full color, darlings. Visit the Outhouse for instructions on how to post there. See "Invitation" or something to that effect. Dad seems to be in there in the afternoons, but I suggest emailing him and he'll round up a posse and you guys can have real-time discussions.
Again, I use the term "discussions" pretty loosely. In the meantime, you dogs take it easy, stay out of trouble.
2006 03 MAY - Forum Instructions
Unkabootch had me walk him through the process of posting in the forum and I realized it
would be easier if I just posted some instructions. You guys are all pretty smart so I'm confident you'll manage it just fine.
First, click on link to
the Outhouse. The forum, the Outhouse, will open in a new
window. You'll see a screen that says "the outhouse" in the top center and just below that a series of options including "FAQ", "Search", and on the top right of that section, "Register" next to a little bitty check box. Click on Register. It will take you to the registration page, which is pretty secure. Pick yourselves a name, enter your email address, and set up your preferences (if you don't know what any of the stuff toward the bottom half of that page means, skip it and move on to click "SUBMIT"). Then it will take you to where you can return to the outhouse or "the index". From there, log in. There's a log in box at the bottom of the page as well as underneath the button that said "Register" toward the top. Whichever one you choose is dandy. Go on, log in. Got it? Groovy.
Now you're back at the main page again. It says "Welcome!" and "Setting up and good
morning" in the middle of the page. Click on "Setting up and good morning". Now you have a couple choices. You can click on "Welcome to the Outhouse" or
"newtopic". "Newtopic" gives you the opportunity to just start talking and you can post immediately. Clicking on "Welcome to the Outhouse" makes you read what I
wrote this morning, and THEN you can either click "newtopic" or "postreply". Newtopic makes you post a whole new entry. "Postreply" makes your entry show up
under mine as a reply. Give it a whirl, tell me how it goes. If any of this was unclear, let me know and I'll try to explain it again. Have a good day, guys!
2006 03 MAY - A Visit to
the Outhouse
I've set up a forum for us to "discuss important topics" operating under the illusion that you
guys "discuss" and that you don't just "bullshit". Click HERE for
the forum. It's pretty easy but if you have any questions, email me, the Webmistress, at katlang3817@yahoo.com for instructions.
You can expect more updates later today or at least by the end of the week. The
continuing effort of editing the pictures and stories won't take me much longer, but tend to get a bit tedious. Whatever my handy excuse, hang in there, it's coming.
I understand that there have been problems with the guestbook. Please email me at the
above address or leave a message in the forum if you have had trouble with it. I think it's a local problem (read: your server sucks) but I can't be sure until you guys
can tell me a bit more about what happens when you try to view the page.
Also, if anyone has any requests or suggestions for this page, please be happy to contact
